BSP Nepal's roles and responsibilities in the near future is not expected to be different in any way from what BSP Nepal was doing in the past. Its core functions will be as follows:

Core Functions of BSP-Nepal are as follows:

  • Biogas sector operational planning, management and information dissemination.
  • Capacity strengthening of biogas sectoral institutions
  • Assisting national agencies to formulate biogas policies and plants
  • Carry out aplied research to optimize plant operation
  • Design and Implement Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) in biogas sector in Nepal.
  • Integration of biogas with other development activities.
  • Implement bio-slurry extension program
  • Act as a data bank and information pool on biogas
  • Ensure proper administration of biogas subsidy through AEPC
  • Support to resources as biogas loan through credit institutions
  • Ensure the quality of biogas plants and construction
  • Develop biogas quality standards to maintain ISO 9001-2000 quality system
  • Sharing information on biogas construction and maintenance.
